| South East Youth Regional ASA Championships 2008 |
In a Golden weekend, fifteen swimmers from the City of Canterbury made their way to Aldershot for a busy weekend on the 3-4 May. The Star of the weekend was Nick Boylan swimming in the Multi
Disability events. He retained many of his titles from the previous year and walked away with no fewer than six gold medals. Rob Messenger came 1st in the 50m Breaststroke in a national qualifying time of 31.18. He also came 5th in the 100m Breaststroke.

Holly Ralfe found form to also swim a national qualifying time in the 14/15 years 200m Backstroke placed 4th in the final in a time of 2.28.26. She also came 5th in the 100m Freestyle and 10th in the 200m Free.
Helen Robinson swam an exciting 200m Butterfly where she was placed 3rd in a time of 2.27.39. She also came 7th in the 200m and 400m Free.
Dominka Szucsova came 8th and collected her first rosette in the 800m Free. As well as competing in the 200m & 400m free, 50m Fly, 200m & 400m IM |

Elizabeth Wells showed strong form in a number of events. She swam a 7sec PB to gain 13th place in the 400m IM in a time of 5.32.61. In the 16 years and over category Emma Harris was 8th in the 50m Fly as well as competing in the 50m,100m,& 200m Freestyle and 100m Fly.
Emma Drabble swam a good PB in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 1.02.84 as well as swimming in the 50m Free..

Not to be outdone the boys also had some fantastic swims. In the 15/16 year old category Ben Walsh had a superb 24 second PB in the 400m Free in a time of 4.23.46. He came 5th in the 200m Back, 11th in the 100m Back. He also competed in the 50m and 100m Freestyle. Michael Stanley was 7th in the 100m Freestyle and 16th in the 200m Free. Also swimming well was Ben Watson – 13th in the 50m Backstroke, 15th in the 100m Back as well as swimming in the 50m,100m & 200m Free, 200m Backstroke and 200 IM. He achieved PB's in all of his races.

Luke Smith came 8th in the 200m Fly and 15th in the 50m Free. Matt Basford came 7th in the 50m Fly and 10th in the 50m Back, as well as swimming in the 50m & 100m Free and 100m Back. Jazz Malcolm came 4th in the 200m Free and 19th in the 100m Free, as well swiumming in the 50m Fly and 50m Free. The youngest member of the squad was Alfie Goldsmith who competed as a guest swimmer in the Multi Disability category in the following events, 50m and 100m Back, 50m and 100m Fly, 50m breaststroke, 50m,100m,200m and 400m Free and the 200IM.
